Overview:

A Step Ahead Child Care Centers is seeking a caring, dependable, and versatile team member to serve as a Support Specialist with responsibilities spanning school-age transportation, food service, classroom support, and facility upkeep. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and finds joy in contributing to a smooth, safe, and nurturing experience for both children and staff.

Cook & Food Program Support

• Prepare and serve meals/snacks according to the center’s nutritional guidelines and USDA Food Program.
  
  
• Ensure a warm, supportive atmosphere during meals—joining children and staff when appropriate.
  
  
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, food prep areas, and dishes.
  
  
• Complete and organize food program paperwork and assist with grocery inventory or orders as needed.
  
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation and/or food service
  
  
• Strong multitasking skills and comfort moving between kitchen duties.
  
  
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
  
  
• Clear communication and a team-oriented, upbeat attitude.
  
  
• Must meet all state licensing requirements including background checks and training.
